This mens basketball team..

Is truly abysmal — down 42-21, at home, to a TAMU team that’s 6-9 in SEC play….

I can already see that Kermit Davis will likely get the injury excuse and be back next season but really — what reason will there be to be optimistic things will be any different/better?

Re: This mens basketball team..

A week or two ago while the game was being aired, the injury excuse was already being generated.  This will buy Kirby another year of coaching and the Rebel fans another year of misery.

Yep. I used to watch a few games when AK was coaching, but this Kermit team is just horrendous. It's not fun, and you know they are gonna get blown out. All of that money on the Pavilion was a waste.

Re: This mens basketball team..

We should just keep Kermit and keep the buyout money. It's not like we are going to hire anyone good anyway.

That’s kind of my thought. Kermit hasn’t really built a program. He spent his entire time signing OK classes and then either not developing that talent or running into bad luck with injuries. Just pushing to do better and then when it comes time, let him go and hire the best you can get.

But, but, but, everyone was told that if we invested in a new shiny, high dollar facility that it would improve recruiting and make our basketball team better!!!  WHAT HAPPENED!!???????

Remember when funds for the NEZ were diverted to the Pavilion? Keith Carter just got a raise and his contract extended to the 4 year max. He needs to make a change, ASAP.

Yes, and the North Endzone was nothing as advertised.  Also, remember the diversion of funds from Athletics to the New Law Building?  That was enough to make a lot of people stop donating.

Carter needs to give Kermit a gold watch and his buyout money.  Let him ride off into the sun and enjoy his retirement.  It's time to attempt to get a quality basketball coach who can elevate the game in Oxford.  This is something that has not been done and Ole Miss just seems to be too complacent with basketball.  It would have been better to have AK coaching than Kermit.
