Re: Transfer LB to watch

Thanks for the heads up on this kid. Speaking of transfer LB's, have you heard if Chance is gonna return? Seems his family absolutely loves Oxford and Ole Miss. Chance has a brother that's a QB that has been offered as a preferred walk on:

Re: Transfer LB to watch

I am not sure, it would be good for him to stay and put in another solid year in the SEC..

The guy was certainly the leader on defense for us this year.

How is A&M looking as far as any transfers? Saw where Calzone (sp?) transferred. That kid seemed to have a rocket for an arm.

According to TOS, he has declared for NFL.  Guess Durkin  to aTm removed any doubt.  Major loss,to say the least!

Yep, just saw it on Twitter. Huge loss. That kid will be damn near impossible to replace.

Re: Transfer LB to watch

I think it is def a loss, and he would have been better to stay another year, but go chase your dreams. OM will be fine, a few transfers will solidify the spot.

Calzada had the game of his life against bama, but was subpar the rest of the year. With any kind of qb A&M easily beats Ark, LSU and Miss st. Just terrible QB play in those games.

I also think A&M wins against OM with decent QB play, he was 24-42 with 2 ints

Calzada would never see the field if he stayed, King is back as a Soph who was the starter to start the year, until injured in 1st qt of 2nd game.   Was a 5 star guy in 2019, then A&M just signed 5 star Weigman ( who is starter ready as I have seen in a few years coming in) and the transfer Johnson from LSU, who if you really look at the numbers had a very good year at LSU ( 61 % comp 2,800+ yds-27 tds and only 6 ints) as a true soph.

A&M had 2 QBs transfer and a 4 star incoming fresh get hurt in fall practice so it left the QB room empty. When the season started it was King, Calzada and walkon Boost..

I do think Calzada has talent, great arm, just wasnt ready

As far as transfers leaving, we had some younger guys that were getting lost on the depth chart hit the portal, but they were going to get passed by guys that just signed in this class.  Some talented guys, probably the most talented was D Jackson at RB, but A&M is loaded and just signed Moss in this class.  Jackson could play for a bunch for SEC schools.

I know people realize that, A&M signed the #1 class in the country but they signed the #1 class of all time when you add up the points ( I dont know how that is done, but i have read it a few times  and A&M is still on 5 star DL Stewart from Fl ( considered the leader)  and high 4 star S Mathews from Louisiana.  I dont see A&M getting both, but I think they get Stewart

Re: Transfer LB to watch

Looks like Brown could be a Reb by Friday, Ohio st, Michigan and Penn St are all after him also, but word is he likes how OM is in the SEC and has a history of developing transfers such as C. Campbell.

The transfer stuff is so new to Big 10 schools, they have never really gotten into it in years past, but the free portal now is forcing some of the "blue bloods" to now get involved in transfers.

The 6-foot-2, 218-pound Brown, from Carman-Ainsworth High School in Flint, did nothing but make plays for the Chippewas, finishing his career with 203 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, 17 passes defended, 5.5 sacks, five interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. In 2021, Brown made 66 total tackles and had seven tackles for loss, six passes defended and one interception. The three-time All-MAC selection was a terror at the line of scrimmage for Central Michigan, making plays everywhere in both the pass and run game.
