Corral not invited to Heisman ceremony

Not a big surprise but still a disappointment.  I think he was the front runner about halfway through the season.  But his chances declined every game once the injuries to him and the receivers started piling up.

That’s what sucks about popularity contests run by the media.  It’s never about reality, only narratives.  Matt will get his shot in about 10 months

It's a Big 10, player up North, and sometimes Alabama award.  We lost interest in the Heisman when ESPN actively campaigned against Peyton for the Heisman.  Peyton was deserved the Heisman and would have been a great representative for the Heisman.  Honestly, I could not tell you who has recently won the Heisman without having to look it up.

I'm 100% in agreement with your post. The Heisman has become irrelevant. Hardly any of the real greats of football have won that award.

That trophy became totally irrelevant the day Jason White's name was called.

That was the most "pity" award I've seen. "He had bad knees, let's give it to him!"

Re: Corral not invited to Heisman ceremony

It became irrelevant to me the year they screwed Peyton out of it and gave it Woodson.  What a joke.  Woodson couldn't carry Peyton's jock strap.  Let's see how many Super Bowl rings and MVP awards do the Mannings have?  That's the real vote.

Re: Corral not invited to Heisman ceremony

I became disgusted with it when they gave it to Jim Plunket over Archie.  No comparison!!!  Then a year or two later Pat Sullivan gets it and he wasn't near the Quarter Back that Archie was.

Most of these qb's that have gotten the Heisman Trophy all pale in comparison, including Tebow.  I do appreciate Tebow's character.
