The 5th assault on campus since the semester started was reported Saturday. I wonder if that sort of thing is on the increase, or more victims are willing to come forward.

Not sure if its on the increase, or like you said - more victims are willing to come forward. I'm not sure how to prevent that sort of things from happening on campus. When I was in college in a Fraternity, we would designate a couple of guys that would remain sober and keep an eye out for any girls that would get too drunk and may find themselves in a vulnerable position. In the event that a girl was too drunk, then they would basically have a chaperone that would make sure she got back to her dorm/apartment without incident. This not only made sure the girl and Fraternity were protected, but also we gained the reputation of being a safe place for girls to go to.

Times are different in today's world. Now they designate a couple of guys to look for girls who are drunk and easily vulnerable. Once they spot these girls, then the vultures fly in for their prey. The next day the girl generally cries "rape" and comes forward with a case so that her reputation is protected.
