I would be pretty shocked if Lane actually went to another SEC school - unless it were Alabama. With everything going on at LSU, it doesn't seem like a good scenario for anyone to jump into right now.
One additional thing that I'm hearing is LSU's president is very "woke" and will most likely be targetting a minority as a HC.

One thing I will say — Keith Carter is no Pete Boone —- I believe he’s smart enough to know Kiffin is good for Ole Miss and will fight to keep him, from a financial standpoint that is — won’t be afraid to put money out.
Now obviously there are other things besides money —- if we’re all being honest with ourselves, LSU is a place where winning comes easier than it does at Ole Miss — but I don’t see Carter taking the attitude “well we can’t compete with LSU” like former Ole Miss AD’s would.

If Ole Miss can spend $250MM on a stadium upgrade, they should be able to pay Kiffin the market rate.

Agreed.
Also to respond to the other poster, winning at Ole Miss is easier at this point with Kiffin than him starting over at LSU. He's making waves in recruiting so I doubt he would throw it away so easily. He will get a hefty raise. I hope he finishes the year strong. What we need, is for fans to fill the stadium and be LOUD.
