Ole Miss turned to the transfer portal on Thursday to issue an offer to Syracuse wide receiver Taj Harris. Harris, a 6-2, 180-pounder out of Beverly, N.J., entered the portal earlier this week.
Harris said via Twitter: "Syracuse thank you for all the love and support. Coach Dino Babers- thank you for being the role model I needed in my life as well as the coaching staff. With that being said I am entering the transfer portal. Love y’all".
Harris was an accomplished receiver at Syracuse, registering 151 catches for 2,028 yards and 10 touchdowns throughout his career. The Orange, however, have become more of a run-oriented football team this season and Harris suffered a loss of production in the new system. He was a third-team All-ACC selection. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining wherever his landing spot becomes.
In addition to Ole Miss, Harris has reported offers from Temple, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Utah, Western Kentucky and Mississippi State.
247Sports Transfer Grade and Analysis: We have given Harris an initial grade of 85, which means he should be a Power 5 starter wherever he transfers. Harris announced that he received offers from Mississippi State, Western Kentucky, Utah, Kentucky, and Texas A&M since he’s entered the portal. Harris is a quality outside vertical threat with start and stop ability. He can run the full route tree and create separation from defensive backs. Big catch radius at 6-foot-2 but still needs to add size and get stronger at 180 pounds. - Clint Brewster
