We have a semblance of a defense. It was nice to see improvement.

Defense played great. Dont worry about the few points in the 2nd half. After you dominate someone 26-0 in the first half and really should have been 35, 42-0, you have a little adrenaline dump at halftime. add the fact that the last 20-25 minutes of game time, OM went very vanilla on defense, no stunting on the DL and only 1 blitz I counted and that was on the last play Louisville ran for a TD.
But overall for a 1st game, tons of new faces, new defensive scheme and coming off the season it did last year defensively, I give the D a strong B, maybe a B+ tonight.

I agree - major improvement on defense with a bunch of new faces. Campbell is the best LB we've had in a long while.
Adding to that - how about that freshman Costa? Dude has a heck of a leg. He needs to get a bit more lift, but it's surprisingly nice to see us being able to kick FG's when we need to.

I was worried when we missed the xp but Costa came in and went perfect.
The 2nd half D, did what it was supposed to do. They made UL burn tons of time on every drive. They backed up and guarded against the long plays and conceded the short plays. We didn't have to push pressure in the 2nd half with the 26 point cushion. UL didn't score a TD until the very end of the 3rd qtr.

When UL started scoring, did we have lots of backups in the game? It was nice to see your offense answer with a score whenever UL scored. At least we did not have a team that would sit on a lead and then loses in the end. It was a good showing by the Rebels and hopefully, in the next few weeks, the team can fine-tune some things.

I think we need to get Plumlee the ball more.

Plumlee is a heck of a ath, but you can tell compared to the guys that have been Wrs for years, he is behind, as should be expected. Then add he was playing baseball all spring and early summer. He is not in the top 6 WRs on the roster right now. Give him some time to keep learning the position, it's not just running a 4 yd cross. It's blocking, route running to get others open, the entire package,
