Softball team?
Anyone with any insight? There are rumors a player had an affair with a coach — players were pressured on who to vote for in the last presidential election….may not be anything to it but the rumors are there —- anyone heard anything ?

So basically the "woman scorned" is out of revenge.
Both are Super seniors so they are at least 5th-6th year in college. adults, but still under her supervision. Fire her and send the 2 packing

If you are a member of this site and can post, remind some of these people that keep saying allegations with this softball coach, to read all the stuff she did at Minn and was still hired at OM. Trying to block a girl from playing on the Olympic team and threatening her scholarship, all proven in that first link.

The softball program is a mess. Coach Smith should have never been fired. It's ridiculous how badly this admin screwed up a very good program.

Coach Smith was fired as a result of a walkon player and her parents not getting their way. You can almost be assured since this mess, neither the player nor the parents have made any positive contributions to Ole Miss. The Ole Miss softball program is a mess.

Catfish, was that lady in charge ever fired that created all that mess? Seems like I remember something about her "retiring" or maybe taking another position. I admittedly don't follow softball at all.
The softball program is a mess. Coach Smith should have never been fired. It's ridiculous how badly this admin screwed up a very good program.
Coach Smith was fired as a result of a walkon player and her parents not getting their way. You can almost be assured since this mess, neither the player nor the parents have made any positive contributions to Ole Miss. The Ole Miss softball program is a mess.

I have to think deep down in Lynette Johnson has something to do with the hire of Trachel and the background being ignored. Carter is catching a lot of shit, as he should, he is in charge, but I am sure he relied a ton on people like Johnson.

So when Trachsel was hired in April 2020, Johnson was in the middle of it as Deputy AD in charge of gender equality. As in a majority of these type situations, the background work and grunt work is done by the asst/dept AD in the sport they are part of male/female.
Of course the person that was supposed to do a complete background check, obviously didnt do it very well and it should come out in the investigation.
Of course also it will be easier to blame Johnson now that she is retired, so probably will never know the real truth.
