I just witnessed an advertisement on TV that stated that I could watch College Football games this fall for a low $10 per month. Is this what the NIL is leading to? I do not watch NFL games and I'm sure not going to pay some sports network to watch bratty, undisciplined, spoiled, and paid college players. 
Since the college athletes are now able to receive pay for their NIL, they no longer need an education as they are getting paid more than normal "blue-collar" workers, they can live well and are earning a living playing sports (as the other professional athletes). One athlete just received a "decked out" truck for his NIL. Ole Miss went on probation because of a so called "car deal" and now it's "OK." My question: when will the NCAA lift the requirements for a 2.0 or 2.5 GPA in order to play college sports and lift the requirements to achieve a certain number of academic hours per school year in order to play?
With the NIL, college sports will only be "affiliated" with universities and colleges and will operate under a separate entity while paying licensing and rental fees for using the university name and facilities as their base of operations. The need for academics for some athletes will become a moot point.  Why go to class or be required to attend class when some student athletes can earn thousands of dollars through the NIL? These sport departments or the athletes will have to pay for their tuition (if and when they decide to begin an academic career). College sports will become a "Come play for us and here is what we can guarantee for your NIL income."
I also see where more athletes are hitting the "Transfer Portal" because they are unhappy with their apparent playing time or whatever. I believe that this NIL and Transfer Portal garbage will began to stink pretty soon. And these are some of the reasons that I believe college athletics are headed down a "rabbit hole."
