For the first time in several years - I’m excited about football

I know the defense has a lot to prove this year, so that’s not why I’m quite ready to buy into all they hype about 9 or 10 wins - but I am looking forward to the season this year.

I just couldn’t get excited about football when Luke was HC - I’m not going to pile on the guy and rehash anything so I’ll leave it at that — then last year with Covid stuff, and attendance restrictions & an abnormal season I wasn’t really enthused even with a new HC in Kiffin.

But this year, it seems things are on track to normalcy (hope it stays that way), I’m planning a trip to Atlanta for the opener vs Louisville and I think we have a chance to be a good team. It does feel good to look forward to the season again — just two more months.

I’m also hoping to make it to a few home games this year — haven’t been to one since Freeze’s last season.

I am going to Atlanta also.  My family is taking me.  It will probably be the last game that I attend.

Re: For the first time in several years - I’m excited about football

It is good to be excited about football again.  The past few coaches have run the program in the ground, but Kiffin is building it back and getting players in the positions where they are needed.  Ole Miss did well last year with their season and won a major bowl against a highly rated Indiana team.

As for Atlanta, I took my trip this year, and don't plan on returning anytime soon.  The city has given itself a black eye and is being taken over by overzealous cancel culture people.  Atlanta was once a great city and a fun destination, but now with all the turmoil, I would not go downtown or inside the loop.  With Ole Miss playing, you can be assured there will be some cancel culture protesters in the area.

I’ve heard the Buckhead area has really gone down — which I thought at one time was kind of an upscale area of ATL, but maybe I’m wrong about that.
