OM looks to get OL transfer
from the Portal. Utah center Orlando Umana entered the transfer portal last Monday 6/28/21.
Umana played in 40 games during his career at Utah with 26 starts. Twenty-two of those starts came at center and four were at left guard. He was injured during the 2020 season and his replacement is a younger guy and Utah has moved on with him as the starter this spring, so Umana is looking for a home. Should be able to play right away and have 2 years left to play.
6'5" 320 guy that has played in 40 Power 5 games with 26 starts are not just walking around on the street everyday.
Has to be more to the story since he has 2 years left to play. But hey, I would be thrilled if I were OM to pick him up if he ends up at OM
Could come in and add depth or be the guy at center for OM with tons of exp. should be a hard nose guy playing for Whittingham there.
He also looks Samoan/Polynesian and those guys grow up tough, love those guys.

Very nice pickup. Guys will that much experience are very valuable - I really love seeing what Lane is doing is building up the talent on this team.

The commitments are good. In the past, it has been unusual to see Ole Miss get top-rated OL and DL players. Of course have inept HCs/PCs coaches who could not coach the OL or only wanted to focus on skill players hampered the position's needs of the team.
