I’ve seen his name floated as a possible candidate if Bianco does in fact leave — am I the only one not excited about him? He seems to like the small ball, bunt a lot (a whole lot) philosophy...which if it works it works...
Of course LSU expressed interest too, so what do I know, right???

Apparently not a whole lot. I think he would make us a fine replacement, He is a good recruiter and has done very well at East Carolina. There is nothing wrong with small ball in the right situations. We presently don't use it at all, Bianco doesn't know how to use it or defend it.

I posted about him on the thread about when A&M was looking for a HC, if we would not have gotten who we did, I would have taken Godwin in a heart beat.

I remember several years ago with Godwin was an assistant under Bianco, and we had a season that we struggled pretty heavily at the plate and folks were wanting to run him off with a pitchfork. He ended up turning things around though. I remember him being one of the best recruiters we had on staff as well. I would be happy with him, but I'd rather have Dan - but I'm not sure we could convince him to leave Louisville.

Dans kids are big Ole Miss fans and his wife loves Oxford so Maybe that will help.

It would take something other than money. Jim Patterson could write a check for any amount to keep him at Louisville.
