If this bill passes, then it could be the beginning of banning other weapons. There is already talk of imposing an annual tax on clips that hold over ten rounds. This bill infringes on the liberties defined by the Second Amendment of the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights for US Citizens. The current administration and its followers are trying to reshape our country to their beliefs. All legal US Citizens have the right to bear arms.
So what is the benefit of banning assault weapons?

You know, the one thing that really pisses me off about this type of stuff is that the 2nd Amendment was created in order for the government to be in fear of the citizens. There is no weapon that the government should be allowed to posses that a citizen should not be allowed to have - there are zero exceptions to this. If you want to own a tank - you should be allowed to own one. Any gun law is unconstitutional - period.
Personally, I've been reading up a great deal on 3d printed guns. There's some really cool ones out there, such as the FGC-9 rifle. I've been trying to convince the wife to let me buy a 3d printer, and I'm coming up short in that right now. If this law gets passed (and isn't overturned), then that might be enough to convince her to let me go ahead and buy one.

100% agree with you on all points. Every gun law is illegal. Government has no business in the arms business. They are a consumer. People that want gun control don't want to eliminate guns. They just want the tyrannical governments, which have abused and murdered people throughout world history, to be the only ones to have guns.
Let's break down the 2nd Amendment:
A well regulated Militia (Militia means people owning guns not government), being necessary to the security of a free State (As stated, gun ownership is necessary to ensure freedom), the right of the people (Notice again this speaks to PEOPLE) to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed (Every law against this is illegal).
It pairs with the Declaration of Independence language:
"...That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government..."
AND
"...But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security..."
