not surprising. They look at who puts butts in seats.

I love the logic of the "Selection" Committee. In the SEC Tourney, we go 3-2 in the toughest league in the country. beat the defending Nat'l Champion and both pur loses were by one run to Vandy and the consensus #1 team in the Nation and we don't move up at all. Miss. State gets their doors blown off by scores of what? I think 11-1 and 12-2 or something like that... in other words "smoked" and they actually rise? What a friggin joke!

We have already proven we can beat better teams than these. Unfortunately, we can lose to lesser teams as well.

That's the thing about this team. We can look like an all world team one day, and then crap the bed the next. If you look at our roster, 22 of the 38 guys listed on our roster are Sophomores or Freshmen. That's not at all to say that other teams don't have young guys - they certainly do.
The biggest losses we'll have after this year is with our starting pitching (replacing Doug and Hoglund). The core of the team will return, along with the freshmen that have been very productive for us. I do think McCants needs to be moved to a different position - his lacks arm strength and experience to be in CF. He's done well this year being moved into that role, but he's out of position.
The biggest "good" losses will be Cael Baker and Ben Van Cleve will be gone. Those guys are almost always an automatic out whenever they're at the plate.

McCants started like a house on fire, but he has made numerous tactical mistakes lately. His hitting has certainly taken a nose dive. He used to have such and easy/smooth swing and now it is awkward. He seems to be unsure and lacks the confidence he once demonstrated. I agree 1000% on Baker and Van Cleve.

I've noticed that as well. He has gone from a "whip" type of swing to more of a "power" swing.

Baker was a great hitter until everyone figured out he couldn't hit a curve ball.
