Don’t know about y’all but it won’t hurt my feelings at all if we go one and done in the Tourney— the only thing to gain I guess is a National seed but that’s a long shot. I’d rather go home and rest arms for the Regional.

Regardless, we are not destined for a very long run in either. With no pitching, you can't expect much.

Even if the Rebels rest their arms for a Regional, they will probably get knocked out of it. This is the typical Bianco team with lots of promise at the beginning of the season, only to flounder and move to the middle of the pack later in the season.

If Bianco is smart, he'll give someone a start that hasn't even started this year, just to see if someone steps up in that role.

The key "if Bianco is smart" and I think we know the answer to that.

One thing that I know I would have done to replace Hoglund was to have a "committee starter" to replace him. What I mean by that is to really throw the bullpen out there one day - each guy to pitch 1 inning (2 innings at max). The SEC tourney, I wouldn't even worry about winning a single game. Again, I would look at guys in the bullpen that haven't had many opportunities, and see if there's a diamond in the rough in there somewhere and use it as a "try out" to see what I had.

I use to go the SEC tournament for a lot of years. I don't anymore. But Mike's MO is he isn't going to "burn" anything in the SEC tournament, just doesn't matter to him, he's interested in NCAA regional only.

This gives Bianco another excuse if he loses. I know they want to save arms, but it is nice to win the SEC Tournament or at least wins some games. If the teams don't play to win, then what's the use of trying to be competitive and win? This attitude of saving arms for the regionals makes the SEC Tournament not interesting to watch.
