Re: Pretty quiet for LSU week and the return of Yawyaw

Ed already had his ice breaker against OM last year.  he was able to take his team and put it to us last year and did so in solid fashion.  So "payback" has been administered IMO.  OM fans who attacked him while at OM and continue to do so now will only motivate him if he listens or cares about what they say.  So it is best to just support the team rather than talk trash about a guy who was hired to take a dumpster fire of a program and made it 100x better for nutt whom made it another dumpster fire in 2 short years.

I will say this, the D is looking better in terms of attacking the ball, still barely better than 50% of what I believe they are capable of, but they at least made contact and ended plays for the most part.  What I hope is that we just continue to get better.  I think LSU is ok but they are not the LSU of old.  the talent is not there as it has been in the past and that is not a coaching thing, I think that is an availability thing. the state is not as deep the last few years and with FL, TX and MS holding on to their kids for the most part, LSU is not able to branch out as much and win those battles.  We will see, but i hope to hell we can make this a 4th quarter game this weekend.  We just need to walk into Ark with a killer mindset.  Ark's qb has been murdered all year and he is getting wore out.  We don't need to let them catch a 2nd wind and allow burt to get any momentum.

Re: Pretty quiet for LSU week and the return of Yawyaw

Pomouth post exemplifies the GOB mentality.  How dare some new HC be brash enough to challenge the penny loafered sweater vested old codgers at the event.  O was their worst nightmare.  He called bullshit on their WAOM claims, worked his ass off when they wanted to buddy up to him and go golfing, refused to listen to their demands, etc.  In other words he was a perfect fit but Boone and Co made sure he was hampered at every turn, local and national media attacked him like nothing I have ever witnessed before and all he did was work harder.  I can't fault him for overworking his staff.  I'm sure those like Luke he wanted to run off day one but knew he had to keep them so his only option was to force them out by making them earn their way.  The rats went running when the bullshit came to the top.
That's not a love fest.  That's respect.  Hard earned respect for a job done better than any I have ever witnessed considering the circumstances.  Was he ready for the position?  Of course not.  Like others I would have loved to see what he could do at Ole Miss with an ounce of support outside of his paycheck.
I bet we will get to see his coaching ability at LSU as well as recruiting ability.  Their vanilla offense has hindered recruiting anything outside of RB's but that is changing.  I wish him nothing but success and when he whips our ass tomorrow I hope all of the haters have trouble sleeping tomorrow night.  You get what you deserve.  Karma is a bitch.  Read through the message boards and you will see so many of our fans still hate the man.  I'd be motivated too.  Nothing like rubbing their snotty ass noses in it on their home turf knowing they going to be headed back to the Grove by the 3rd quarter.  It's almost comical to me.  Sad even moreso to see so called adults treat another human so poorly.
This is one ass kicking I won't mind my Rebels taking.  We deserve it and what we see across the field could have been us if we would have just given the guy time.  Now not only is he at home we will face him annually.
He may not pan out at LSU but it won't be because he's a bad coach and it certainly won't be because he didn't try his absolute hardest to be the best.
Like it or not O is directly responsible for our run with Freeze.  He taught him how to recruit.  How to go after the top tier talent and you see what was the result.  Unseen success since JV years.  Can't deny facts.
I wish Matt Luke had 1% of Orgeron's drive.  Unfortunately the apple doesn't fall far from the coaching tree and he's about as lifeless as Cut and as clueless as Nutt.
One day closer to first week of December.  GOB's be damned.

We can dream....but the same brain trust that gave us and promotes our WAOM attitude is in place.  Do we REALLY expect results to be different this time?  I'll be pleasantly surprised if we beat the pattern already established.  I have zero confidence in the 'leadership'.....ZERO.

My guess.... we 'punt' and/or kick the can down the road because we won't commit, under any circumstances, to go after a championship...we only want to "compete" and convince our people to be happy with and accept mediocrity.

I can’t argue that that is a both distinct and horrifying possibility.
However the guys I visit with are confident of three things:
We will hire a HC in December
He will hire his own staff
There won’t be any holdovers from this staff

Have to keep in mind that Bjork has already let Luke know he won’t be considered for the job so he has the GOB’s pissed off already. However the big money donors want a new coach and a new staff. I’d bet right now we won’t win but maybe 1 more game and by the time that wraps up the GOB’s won’t have anything but eggs on their sweater vests.
Bjork has the support of the right folks and I’m confident in his ability to make the right hire.

May, I hope your sources are spot on..... I'm cynical because I've watched this train wreck since JV left.... Tub was a ray of hope until he saw the WAOM refusal to put up or shut up....and found his way out.  I used to be mad at him for the way he left the team holding the bag but I understand that the administration got exactly what they deserved IMO.   Hugh was a breath of fresh air his first 2 years but the air went out of his balloon (by default ours too) and the fall began....

Soooooo.... I won't get my hopes up again until I see results on the field.....just not worth the disappointments.  Until then we can all sit back and watch our new 'Charlie The Tuna' take the field next fall....."Sorry Charlie"

I honestly think one of the biggest problems in our AD is that Vitter is getting too much involved and not listening to Bjork. I know AK isn't a fan of him.

Vitter needs to go to the shitter.  He is a crappy Chancellor.  It would be good to know who hired him and why he was hired.
