Tony Fair. From Indiana in HS and then went to JUCO. Was the #6 JUCO DL in 2019 when he signed with UAB.
Lots of offers right now as he just entered the portal. Auburn, Iowa, Michigan, Indians
Coming out of JUCO

We could use all of the DT's we can get. Pretty big dude, would certainly fill up a gap.

Agreed, would be a 'HUGE" pickup..lol
Looks like he is going to make a decision quick. I would ASSUme so he can get moved and enrolled by wherever he is going by first summer session.
My guess would be Auburn and OM since they both have spots open on the depth chart at DL. Auburn has had 1 DT transfer guys and OM just lack of depth . I see people listing Auburn as having 3 DL, but 2 are DE's and Fair is not a DE..lol
I would probably give OM a little edge if it were down to AU and OM just because in Fair's situation he only has 1 year left and AU is a completely new staff, etc. At least at OM the staff is on year 2 even though the position coach is new to the staff.
Indiana might be a wildcard just because he is from there, but I have a feeling he wants to go to the SEC to go against that competition to try for the draft.
His comments with one of the 247 OM writers today..Fair spoke exclusive with the Ole Miss Spirit on Friday about what factors he is weighing in determining where his next stop in his career will be. Since landing in the portal earlier this week, he has collected offers from Ole Miss, Auburn, Indiana, Purdue, Iowa and Michigan."I hope to make a decision in about a week," Fair told the Ole Miss Spirit. That means he will do so blindly, as his time frame won't allow for any quick visits to the programs in pursuit of his services."I don’t plan to take one," he said of potential visits, "because it’s time to get started training and getting prepared for the season. I’ve been through the recruiting process before, so this is not about enjoying myself. It’s all about business and where I will be comfortable at," Fair said.Fair played in all nine of UAB's games last season, earning three starts. He registered 21 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack and one fumble recovery. His best season for the Blazers came as a junior in 2019 when he tallied 36 tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles and two quarterback hurries, en route to earning second-team All-CUSA honors. He was described as "a monster in the run game at nose tackle" and helped lead UAB to the nation's eighth-ranked defensive unit.Fair, who transferred to UAB after a two-year career at Pima Community College (Tucson, Az.) will be immediately eligible at his new program."As of right now, my top schools are providing everything I am looking for in a school and football team, so now my next choice is location. Like where do I want to live," Fair related. An as far as his current thoughts on Ole Miss?"Ole Miss is a school I am strongly considering," Fair said.Ole Miss appears to have the numbers to sign as many as three transfers during the summertime months. The Rebels are concentrating on defensive tackles, tight ends and "best available."

It is great to see Ole Miss finally recruiting and getting some quality defensive lineman. In the past it seems like no staff was ever able or focused on DL's.
