Miss. State wins the series 2-1 against Ole Miss. The Rebels blew a lead and lost the game. From the past three series with top caliber opponents, the Rebels have once again shown that they cannot win against the big boys. Going 1-2 vs. Florida, 1-2 vs. Arkansas, and 1-2 vs. Miss. State for a record of 3-6 vs. top caliber SEC teams indicates that the Rebels just cannot compete for championships. Once again a glorified year is going down the drain. There are some upcoming series that could make up for these losses, but when the stakes are high, the Rebels winning percentage is low.

Unless this team makes some crazy run to Omaha, Bianco should be history.

Well, with only two pitchers that are worth a damn, we can't expect to go too far. Our bullpen is more like a pen of steers. Taylor Broadway is the only one that is really good. The rest are a crap shoot or like spinning the wheel of misfortune. Sure a couple look decent as long as we are playing some Jr. High team.

That’s pretty much the scenario every year.

Our middle relief pitchers are weak. That really hurt us Sunday in Starkville (and will hurt us again).
