Hey Rock1..
Just curious on your thoughts on TAMU baseball and whether or not a change will be made there or not?

Yes, a change will be made. Childress is in the last year of his contract. Ends in June. He is dead man walking. Surprised it got this far along, but at least there is no buyout.
Will be a great gig for someone. Great facilites, great pay, less than a hour from Houston that has some of the best HS baseball in the country. Texas for that matter has great HS baseball. Will be interesting to see who Bjork the Dork has lined up.
Childress is a glorified pitching coach. We have put a long line of pitchers in MLB the past decade, but no position players.
When he had Will Bolt ( current Neb HC as his ass the first time back in 07-08 we actually were not bad at hitting the ball.
Matt Deggs was then top ass and we hit the ball well, Deggs and Childress had many issues and Deggs had some personal issues and he left to he HC at Sam Houston and had great success and now HC at Louisiana Lafayette
Think, Childress had Bolt and Deggs on his staff together in 07-08.
Bolt came back to A&M the past few seasons,, but Childress didnt let him coach his style and again A&M struggled at the plate.
Childress would be a great pitching coach as he was for Van Horn when they were at Neb, or even a pro pitching coach.
But in no way is he a HC.
I would take Deggs in a minute

I will say, I dont follow baseball anywhere as close as I do football, but people I know that do, say this is it.

Braden Shewmake was a SS at A&M drafted by the Braves in the 1st round a couple of years ago. He made it to The Mississippi Braves (AA) right before the season ended in 2019. Didn’t get to have a season last year but he is listed in top 5 Braves prospects. Maybe he will become a quality MLB player for the Braves and represent A&M well.
I know that doesn’t have anything to do with possible coaching change at A&M. Just thought it might be an interesting tidbit to share.

Yes, he was a stud, but regresses at a&m. I was listing guys that had made the Bog leagues and so far nothing but pitchers. I am sure Braden will, just had to start over in the pros.
He was Freshman of the year in college baseball, .328/11/69 then as a soph .320/5/45 and a Jr 313/5/47

Gotcha - didn’t realize he was in the last year of his contract.
Wonder if Bjork would put out feelers for Bianco? I only wonder because they worked together before at Ole Miss

I wish. 20 years and one World Series. Lets face it , We're not getting any younger here.

I believe as good as OM was last year, if Covid was not a factor in stopping the season, we would still have only one World Series on the Bianco resume.

From what I hear, A&M has been/is in talks with TCU HC Jim Schlossnagle to be it;s next HC.

TAMU a should consider Bianco. He would be a good choice for the Aggies. Plus he has the Bjerk connection.
