So Saturday was my first day feeling bad, today is the first day I can say I am feeling better.  Chest is a little heavy.  I did some wash and after switching the load I was pretty winded.

Hopefully will see some progress tomorrow as well. Basically it felt in general like the flu.  My biggest issue was the odd body aches and numbness.   It’s cold outside but sunny.  Wish I could get some fresh air but I am too cold.

I want a cheeseburger.  Lost about 5 LBs in the last 2 days.

Thanks for posting these updates. Really interesting hearing how you're holding up and progressing. Just curious - what meds did you end up getting?

Re: Got the rona

I am an IT guys.  Know my way around the Internet. And with all this time on my hands I’ve been doing a lot of searching and reading. One thing is 100% certain, search engines and media outlets do not publish information worth an absolute shit. My daughter lost her smell and taste after day five. So I was wondering if there was therapeutics to help keep that from happening. I mean maybe it’s out there, but you can’t search for anything without being fed what they want you to read believe or see. I read about therapeutics of trying to help get your smell and taste back but nothing regarding anything that would help strengthen or keep it from happening. The media is too worried about their narratives to put forth any effort in providing actual information

Anyway, just figured that I would share a little bit of my day so if anyone else gets here they could have some sort of context. Course we know this thing can swing from no symptoms to deadly symptoms so we’re all different.

Re: Got the rona

Day 8.

I felt better yesterday, thought I was on the downhill but woke up this morning with a super tight chest and a pounding head.  I had been fighting this for a few days but this morning hit me hard.  I’ve been using DayQuil and NyQuil and Mucinex D almost every day for the last eight days and I tried to wean myself off of it and I think that’s the problem.  Lost a little bit of my smell.  I started using Vicks and I can’t smell when I put it on but I can feel vapor

My fear at this point is the sinus drainage getting in my chest and turning into something worse. So I’m going to try my hardest to get rid of the sinus drainage. I did start to cough up a little bit so that’s good but I’m not ready for this to be over with.  I’m only sleeping about an hour at a time over the last few days I’m just worn out still

Re: Got the rona

For the post nasal drip consider nasal sprays like OTC Flonase Sensimist or prescription Azelastine (Astelin).  In the past I have lots of issues with nasal drips.  It is very aggravating and can cause respiratory issues.

Azelastine has worked well for me and has proven to be a great nasal spray for combating nasal drip.  It is a prescription, so you will need to have your Doctor write it for you.  Flonase Sensimist is a steroid spray available OTC.  In the allergy season, I use both sprays and get very effective relief from nasal drip.

Another effective treatment for nasal issues is to use a saline nasal wash.  Neilmed makes good products with premixed saline packets and a neti pot or sinus bottle.  These kits are available at Target, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Kroger, and other big chain stores.

A final product to consider is Ayr Saline Nasal Gel.  This is a good product for moisturizing and relieving symptoms for dry nasal passages.  It is harder to find, but can be bought at most Walgreens, CVS, Kroger, or Food City stores.

Good luck with your journey.  Keep us updated.

Re: Got the rona

I was feeling better Friday and Saturday.  So much I figured I would run out the door for some fresh air.  Woke up Sunday to a pounding headache and the ton of bricks came back.

Changed up some meds and Monday I was better again. Seems like sinus pressure keeps creating up but I think things are better if I can keep my chest moving I will be fine.

Re: Got the rona

Please tell me that you have been taking vitamin D3, C, and Zinc at least.

Re: Got the rona

Religiously for about 8 months.  To be honest, I was shocked to finally get it since I have had to be in large gatherings almost the entire time. And to get it how I am pretty sure I got it is irritating.

My daughter got it on her cheer team the last day before Christmas break.  I am sure I picked mine up giving blood.  Just crazy

Re: Got the rona

Hopefully you were able to get back healthy and have your smell/tastes all back.

Re: Got the rona

Let us know about your sense of smell and taste.  I know people who got Covid before Thanksgiving and are just now getting their sense of taste and smell back.
