How are my fellow Reb fans

with it being kind of slow right before the 2nd signing day next week and with the 2022 class getting heated up.

How are you folks, your families, jobs, businesses, health?  With the way of the world the last year, just hoping everyone is making it.

I have been fortunate, job is good and we were able to play and complete our football season making a deep run in the playoffs.

Have had my brother and both sisters and their spouses get Covid, all did well and have 100% recovered.  My mother is 75 and is in great health ( me staying on her to stay at home this past year has been tough on her as she lives a very active life)

But all in all, me and mine made it thru 2020 pretty well.

Re: How are my fellow Reb fans

Glad you are doing well and I’ll second the appreciation for your info on this board.  My youngest turned 9 months old today and is a happy, healthy chunk.  Looks like I’m raising two future offensive linemen.  My family and I are all healthy and happy, life is good.

Re: How are my fellow Reb fans

We have been surviving and gotten through 2020.  Business has been slow with all but 4 of 30 events cancelled for our business in 2020.  One of the four happened in Jan 2020, so it was just before the damndemic.  This has been a real strain in income, but we have an emergency fund that has been adequate for us.

In the past two months Covid has swept through our family and also infected many close friends.  My stepson in NYC, my son-in-law in Knoxville, and four out of 5 of the outlaws caught the bug.  Everyone said you DON'T want to get it.  My wife and  have been very careful while playing Dodge the Covid Game and have been fortunate to have not been infected.  Right now we are just too close to a vaccine to take any chances and on Sunday I get a Covid test in order to get an upper and lower GI done next week.

We missed our escape to Florida and get away from the cold trip this year, but look forward to things becoming a bit more normal this year.  Right now my thoughts are that it will be another year and we will have to adapt to the virus.

More evidence is surfacing that the virus was made in a lab and either intentionally or accidental released to the public.  The Chinese really messed up the world with their reckless creation and containment of this Chinese virus.

Overall, we are thankful for our blessings and continue living through the days.  One thing for sure is that we are really looking forward to Ole Miss football this year.  It is nice to be excited about the football season this year.

Re: How are my fellow Reb fans

Things have been going pretty good on my end. I'm a remote developer for a bank, so 2020 was a very busy year for my group. With branches shutting down, that's providing more work for my group to come up with solutions for automating certain tasks that branches would normally handle. Having said that, it made my job more important, so I'm thankful for that.

My 1st cousin passed away in December from a stroke. He was just 47 years old. He had just finished eating dinner with her his two and said he had a headache and he went to his room and sat down. Next thing they heard was him falling down, and he never woke back up. That made Christmas a bit more somber. Turns out he had quit taking his blood pressure meds because he had said that he didn't like how they made him feel. I did go to his funeral, and everyone was masked up, which was good.

My wife and I decided to not travel to our families during Christmas - as that was about the time cases really spiked high in MS. The last thing we wanted to do was to stop for a bathroom break, pick up the 'rona, and pass it on to our aging parents. Of course, my older brother was really mad - he's one of those that believes the 'rona is a myth and just the same as the flu. So, when I explained to him "why" we wouldn't be coming (but did send presents) he acted like an ass about it, but whatever floats his boat.... It was the right call.

We adopted another rescue back in November. He's a 4 year old Shih Tzu that was rescued from a puppy mill that was shut down in Missouri. He had spent his entire life outside in a cage. A rescue in Memphis had gotten him, and he was there for 4 months before we adopted him. Our oldest old (14 year old mini-schnauzer) is in heart failure and he's been on meds for his heart for a long while, and we wanted to get another dog that he could help house train before his time is up. We have a mini-doxie that's about 12 years old, and if our schnauzer passed, she'd be deeply depressed because she really needs another dog to lay around with. Anyways, the new doggie took a good bit of work due to his trust issues, but he's doing really good - yesterday was the first day he was without a diaper in the house. No accidents, so that's really good.

My father had Watchman surgery yesterday in Jackson. Surgery went really well, and he was texting me last night saying he felt fine. He'll be able to go home today.

Hoping 2021 is a much better year and that things can get back to "normal" at some point. While I have been working as a remote developer for nearly 5 years now, I am ready to actually get out of the house and go on an actual vacation. My wife and I did a "stay-cation" this past year and used the money we would have normally spent on a vacation to do a few things to the house.

I'm ready to see how Bianco's team does this year after such a hot start to last year. Pitching should be very good, and offense should be very good again this year. I think we're replacing the left side of the infield this year, but Bianco has recruited so well that I think we'll be okay.

Re: How are my fellow Reb fans

I am a family Physician, so when Covid first hit we actually got slow for a while. Healthy people didn't want to come in for checkups and we were trying to get sick people checked before we brought them in to the clinic. But after about 6 weeks that settled down and we are pretty well business as usual now. We don't do hospital work so I have not had to deal with that aspect of it. My wife is a Home Health nurse so she has faced it too. We have both managed to avoid getting it and have now both been vaccinated. My boys are good. One finishing u college and one finishing high school. My mom actually got covid but only had about 3 days of feeling bad then bounced back and my dad somehow did not catch. (I truly believe some people are just naturally immune).
Glad you are doing well and appreciate your input on the board. Hope everyone has a better year. Hotty Toddy!

Re: How are my fellow Reb fans

I was diagnosed with Bulbar Onset ALS last year.  The good news is that the progression is slow.  As a Vietnam Veteran, the VA has declared me 100% disabled and pays me a tax free stipend more than my social security each month.  They are also giving me a grant of more than $100,000 to modify my house for handicap access.

We are in South Carolina with the whole family within one mile.  Looking forward to Labor Day and a road trip to Atlanta  Life is as good as can be expected under the circumstances.
