Kiffin - new contract
Apparently the deal hasn’t been signed yet and some things are still being ironed out....wonder what the holdup is? Getting it signed would end all this Kiffin back to UT talk....which seems to only be coming from Knoxville, but still...

What the hold back on getting the contract finalized? Its almost been a month since the announcement. Getting the contract signed and finalized should have been a priority for Keith Carter.

It's normal on these deals for it to take a bit. I remember people were surprised when Franchione was given a extension at A&M and 2 months later it was signed. Same when Sumlin was extended , took 6 weeks.
It really just a normal deal.
Now, I wish both those situations would have led to the verbal extension to be void

If Jimmy Sexton has anything to do with it, he will delay the signing and get through February to see what jobs open. He has indicated that the first of the year is one of his busiest seasons for college football coaches. Sexton can let the UT job bonanza make a possible increase on what has been verbalized with Kiffin.

And you know who was Sumlin and Franchione's agent? These AD's know how Jimmy works, believe me they understand the game. The do this backdoor stuff all the time in getting their guys raises and the AD's are in on it

I can remember how Sexton raked Ole Miss over the coals with Houston Mutt, and we all know how that eneded. At least Ole Miss got back to back Cotton Bowls before Mutt just simply quit coaching. Mutt is now a card carrying member of the "Washed Out Has Been Coaches Club."

Yes, Sexton is very good at his job. As for Kiffin to UT, that's just not going to happen. Why would he leave for that shithole? And believe me, it once was a diamond but now it is a dog turd.

TN hired Josh Heupel. I know TN is gonna get hit by the NCAA, but this still seems like a bad hire.
