Finley

Joe Jon is close to taking a job at his alma mater Oklahoma where he played.    I would say this is the only job he would leave OM for other than moving for a OC job.

His dad was a long time HC in Texas and his brother Clint played at Nebraska and was a HC inTexas before going into business a few years back.

Re: Finley

Finley has done an excellent job working with the Ole Miss TEs.  It would be great if he stayed, but fans have to understand his choice.  Now the Rebels have a DL coach, ST coach, and TE coach to replace.

Re: Finley

I thing the special teams position is being filled - the guy from Texas, Coleman Hutzler is coming onboard and is to be announced soon

Re: Finley

I think the Dl coach is being filled also. I think Jimmy Brumbaugh that was at Tenn might be the guy. He was fired after a few games this year.

Pruitt it seems to be a quick to blame guy. He fired Tracy Rocker the year before as DL coach . Rocker is back at Auburn as Dl coach

Tenn still owes Brumbaugh another year and 650K on his contract, as he was Co DC also.

Brumbaugh played at Auburn as many might remember.

Maybe if Ole Miss hires Brumbaugh Tennessee can pay the bulk of his salary and he can be given a raise based on performance after the UT money is depleted.

Unfortunately that doesn’t work. If he takes a job under market value, Tenn wont pay.

I could see him making like 500K and Tenn picking up maybe the 150K. But it wont be something huge

Re: Finley

Expect Clint Tricket to be the new TE coach, played QB at FSU and WVA, was TE Coach at FAU under Kiffin that helped develop Mackey Award Winner Harrison Bryant ( now a Cleveland Brown).  Before that he was QB coach at East Miss JUCO.  Last year the OC at FAU as Taggart keft him after Kiffin left.
Love Finley and know his family, but this is a good or better hire.

Clint's dad is longtime OL coach Rick Trickett who coached at FSU under Jimbo Fisher, LSU, Auburn and WVA.

Clint has been in this his entire life just like Finley did.

I know Rick some when I was living in Florida I took kids over to the FSU camps and knew Clint from when he was a youngster

Great hire

Re: Finley

We certainly appreciate your information.  Now to get a good DL coach.  You had mentioned Jimmy Brumbaugh as a potential DL coach.  Do you think this is a reality or could there be other coaches in play?
