D J Durkin

I’m not impressed - it’s not JUST talent. That one LSU receiver had burned OM all day long and they’re done nothing to adjust

Re: D J Durkin

#1 for LSU smoked the Rebels defense.  It is unfortunate that Moore quit on the team and that Matt was so errant for the game.  Having 5 INTs and a critical fumble lost makes it difficult for a team to win.  Once again, the famous Ole Miss motto, shoulda, coulda, woulda!!!

The flip side is Corral kept us in the game even after a horrible 1st half

Re: D J Durkin

Moore sure has not helped Ole Miss with his quitting.  Bama has just a much talent, but they don't quit.

Also, why when we have a lead with 5 minutes left did our offense change to a Cutcliff plan?  When games are so back and forth, never go conservative!

Re: D J Durkin

I hope our DL recruits will make a difference next year.  LSU had all day to pass to #1 (new LSU school record for receiving yards in a game by the way).  No pass rush whatsoever.

Typical Ole Miss to make another team look all world and allow them to make and break records.  At least we had a decent season, a good recruiting class, a quality coach with coaching staff, and Luke is gone!!!

That second to last drive was horrible coaching. There was no way we would have been able to ram it into a loaded front. Don't change the offense! I remember hearing Freeze talk about how much it throws the offense off when he would do that.

Seems like we let LSU set a rushing record against us a few years ago with Guice.  That’s frustrating.  But I do have some optimism bc we just don’t have a lot of talent on our D but we have a staff that really took a step toward improving that lack of talent in recruiting.

Re: D J Durkin

Also, seems like Durkin was touted as an excellent hire when we got him.  He has HC experience and was pretty successful until he was let go after being held responsible for an unfortunate incident.  I’m sure he is at least partially responsible for landing some of our recent defensive recruits so I’ll give him a pass this year.

Re: D J Durkin

When you only rush 3 and basically have 8 in coverage and you don't even get close to covering the receivers, why not rush a few more guys?
