I hope these kinds of fans are dying out of the OM program, they are the kids of fans that will make it hard to keep Kiffin, because they are losers..

This is a dilusional fan who is obsessed with Matt Luke. Sure Matt Luke is a true Rebel fan and had a good career as a football player, but it is obvious that Matt Luke is not head coaching material. In addition he is barely an effective position coach.
If Luke were still the HC at Ole Miss, the Rebels would have only won one game this year. Corral would have been in the transfer portal, and the offense would have struggled to get a single yard when that is all that was needed. His recruiting class would have been filled with 3 and 2 star players. There would be no excitement in the program.
Thank good for Elijah Moore and his dog pee antics. This is the action that got Matt Luke fired. If it were not for Elijah Moore, Luke would have been at Ole Miss in 2020 and probably gotten an extension and a raise.

Any honest person knew that even promoting Luke to interim HC was not the right move and hiring him full time was sure as heck not the right move.
Yes, he got us a few good recruits although his classes, as a whole, were not sec caliber IMO. We still had tons of talent from freeze but it was all wasted. So all in all, he cost us so much more than he helped us.

Luke could not coach, and could not recruit. He was lazy. “Mississippi Made” says it all.
Look at the upturn in recruiting this year.

In a way I believe Matt deserves some credit for this class. At a time when no good HC wanted our job Luke took it and under the blackest of clouds managed to recruit that 2019 class that had plenty of offensive talent. I firmly believe that a significant factor in Lane choosing us was that ‘19 class. So my hat’s off to a true Rebel who gave it his all during probably the most trying of times for our football program. In my mind his efforts enabled us to sign one of the best head coaches in America. So thanks again Matt, God bless you and your family and I wish you all the best in this life.
First of all, let me say that I agree that Matt Luke should have never been hired (3m / year???). Interim, perhaps; permanent, never! That was Bjork ‘s doing, with a little influence from some of the GOB’s. But I must take issue with your statement that Vampireb is a loser. Far from it! This man is as loyal a Rebel as you will find, and would never intentionally say or do anything to hurt Ole Miss. Kiffin is a very good coach for Ole Miss, but He will not stay unless he has the backing in salaries and facilities to build Ole Miss into another Clemson type program. As soon as a Texas or Alabama comes calling, it makes little difference to him what kinds of fans we are.

I absolutely refuse to believe this. It was a lazy hire by Bjork because he had 1 foot out the door and was too busy bumbling-up an NCAA investigation to bother looking for anyone that wasn't already in house. He was a step up from Boone in day to day operations but when the wash settled, he was still VERY bad for our program.
Are you (in the general sense) seriously telling me that no good coach wanted to come to Ole Miss when we showed we could pay nearly $5 million per year plus incentives with little to no pressure of winning immediately? It was a golden parachute job that just about any decent coach would have considered.

Les Miles drove to Oxford to interview for the job. But I guess with him having a national championship on his resume disqualified him for the job. This was nothing but a good ole boy hire.

Going to disagree with you. I explained it all to Catfish in a message about where Luke is in his life, how rich he is , where he is with his kids and their ages, where he has been..
But my post was nothing about Luke's love for OM, etc.
It was a fan trying to give him CREDIT for what Kiffin and staff have done and are doing. It's a mental illness to think that way as a fan of OM and you have watched the past 4 years. It would have been like Alabama Fans giving Mike Shula for Saban coming in the first year and changing the culture. Its a loser mentality.
Hopefull the huge majority dont have that mindset, or you might see it run Kiffin off. As long as he has facilities that compete with other top tier SEC schools and a recruiting budget and a great pool of $$$ for asst coaches, it will be hard for him to leave

yes, people were lined up to apply for the job.
Look, Vandy and it sewer of a program just got the DC from Notre Dame to take the job, before that they got the DC from a top 5 team in Stanford to take the job.
