Jimmy Sexton is just doing his job.
Exactly. Sexton will first every single client of his out there to try to get them a raise. I would think Lane is getting paid well where he's at, and will have a Heisman hopeful next season - along with possibly getting Arch when he graduates. He's got a shot at building this program into a Clemson of sorts. Add to the fact that if he jumped ship, after just 1 year again, that'll seriously damage his reputation that he has worked so hard in rebuilding.

Since we are more than likely bowl bound, perhaps a contract extension by our Admin is in order.

A contract extension is definitely due for Kiffin. The Auburn job may pay well, but there is a lot of pressure to win. They also have the Moo U / Ole Miss complex with Alabama, but its not as bad. Beating Alabama is on the top of their list. Tommy Tuberville's had a record of 7-3 against Alabama and he was fired at Auburn. Winning coaches get fired and most only get about 5-7 years to produce, but the buyouts and hush money are big payouts to these former coaches.
At Ole Miss Kiffin would not have as much pressure to produce. He would be allowed to put a quality product on the field. Oxford has a better quality of living compared to Auburn, but with Auburn you have a good proximity to Atlanta and Florida. The Ole Miss administration will have to work to keep Kiffin in Oxford, so the ball is in their court on this matter.

AU is the red headed step child of the state and their fan base is delusional. That will never change. Which means every coach knows when they take the job that it will be a short stay and they better have a good buyout clause.

Given Auburn's penchant for firing NC winning coaches, I would suspect that doesn't bode well for them in the long run.
