Sputtered a little on offense. But SEC officials still SUCK!

They always will.
And yes, a win is a win even if it’s not very pretty. But, I have to say I didn’t think we’d score as many points in this game as others — State does have a pretty good defense.

We have a poor defense, no pass rush and can hardly cover anyone. Hate to sound so pessimistic but with that fact and the O-line whiffing on blocking assignments and our offensive coordinator being almost as bad a Longo, we were fortunate.

Open dates have not been kind for us this year. Hope we can break the mold in two weeks!

I don’t care how we win the Egg Bowl, as long as we win it. It was extremely important to win the first matchup between Kiffin and Leach. I think a bye week always gets a team out of its normal game rhythm. But all that matters is what the scoreboard says when the game ends.

We need to capitalize on our assets. We have a receiver leading the nation in receptions and yards. He is up for The Fred Belitnikov (sp.) Award and we hardly threw to him yesterday. Instead, we have him taking direct snaps at QB or as a tailback. I hate to sound like that idiot, Joe Biden, but "come on man"! Helping Moore win that award gives you great exposure and the attention of great receivers you are trying to recruit.

We are light years ahead of where we were with Longo. I watched UNC yesterday - same old Longo - shut out in the second half.

A win is a win no matter how you get it. Of course it would have been nice to have put more points on the board and not have to worry about stopping a last minute drive or having the refs give it away on a bad call.
Speaking of bad calls, my thoughts are that the fumble at the end of the game by Moo U was indeed a fumble. The receive caught the ball, turned, and began moving forward. My thoughts on holding are that the SEC officials blatantly allowed Moo U to hold at will in order to stop the Ole Miss rush. There were several instances of the Moo U OL with pads being held, jerseys being stretched, and players being tackled.
Oh, well, Ole Miss won and needed the victory. Now the big drama will be who the Rebels play next during the regular season, or will there even be another regular season game.

I recall “Bear” Bryant commenting on his tv show about bad calls during a particular game. He remarked that will be the last game he (the official) will call for our games!
Can a coach prevent a certain official from calling his games, or did Bear wield that much influence?
P.S. Felt SEC announcer, Jordan Rodgers, was as biased toward MSU as some of the officiating!
