I hope I am wrong, but with our defense, I don't have a very good feeling about this game. It's going to be a shoot out, and I hope we come out on top at the end. What's your thoughts about this game?

Man, it's hard to feel good about our defense right now. Coaching wise, I love our staff. I did hear we have some guys that will be out due to Covid. But Arkansas doesn't have the firepower we've faced. They are much better coached then last year, but I think we win by 3 scores.

Arkansas always plays one of their better games vs us. For whatever the reason, we never seem up for this game. They appear well coached, and should have a chip on their shoulder after being robbed of a victory last weekend!

Historically, Ole Miss does not play well in Fayetteville. Arkansas has good numbers with their defense and fair numbers with their offense. They have good coaching on both sides of the ball and have played top caliber opponents to small scoring margins. An added factor is that Ole Miss is supposedly having some Covid-19 breakouts, so who knows what players this will effect.
Ole Miss is ranked #2 in Total Offense and have become a high scoring offensive machine. The Rebels have played Florida, Kentucky, and Alabama. Arkansas has played Georgia, Moo U, and Auburn, so the opponents for each team are fairly even. Here are the scores from the games:
OM 35 - FL 51 ARK 10 - UGA 37
OM 42 - KY 42 ARK 21 - MOO U 14
OM 48 - AL 63 ARK 28 - AUB 30
In these games, Ole Miss gave a late TD to AL on a 4th and short with resulted in a long TD run, so there should have only been an 8 point margin, and AUB had a controversial call (imagine that) that could have given Arkansas the win.
Arkansas will not be a push over. Ole Miss will need to score lots of points to keep the Hawgs in check. The Rebel defense will need to make a some stands and stop Arkansas on third down. Ole Miss has a very suspect defense, so they will have to step up and drastically improve in order to not make Arkansas seem like an all world offense.

Normally I would love catching Arkansas where they are right now. They have played two very close and emotional games on the road and have to be drained, especially after how they were cheated in Auburn. A loaded team like Alabama or Clemson might have a letdown but could still “out-talent” someone. I’m pretty sure Arkansas doesn’t fit into that category right now.
The problem is that you could say the same thing about us. KY was definitely a close, emotional win and we put everything we had into the Bama game. I really don’t like that we are traveling to play. The positive for us is that while Bama was a shootout, I’m not sure it was quite as physical a game as what Arkansas has played the last couple of weeks. And of course players out with covid makes it all a crapshoot anyway.

I'm not clear who we have out for Covid. If it's some of our starters, I think we are in trouble. Plus, as you guys pointed out, the hogs have some factors in their favor - playing at home, chip on shoulder after the refs shafted them, etc. I guess one positive for us is that their stadium won't be full but I'm guessing they blatantly violate the 25% capacity limit. Hopefully Kiffin can pull a rabbit out of the hat.

If you watched the season last night, what I’ve seen in the past especially from the last coach, these hard for moral victories earned a bunch of back patting and Atta boys. This weekend Lane told them that it’s unacceptable to be this close and not to pull out a win. Good lord that is music to my ears. Such a novel concept. You don’t play just to do well enough And have a good showing. Play the game to win

Kiffin learned a new standard when playing for Saban. He then put it to practice while in Florida, and today, we now have a new expectation to live up to in Oxford.
Yes, music to my ears!

Anyone think we get screwed on a call or no call in a close game? Knowing the shady crap that goes on in the SEC office, I'm wondering if the SEC told Ark they'll "make things right" with them.
