Re: Lane Kiffin...

Maybe I missed something but I don't see or know of any connections Frank Wilson has to Luke.  Luke was only here a few months before he was fired while Wilson remained on staff before ending up at LSU.  I have always heard that Wilson owned and maintains a home in Oxford.  Not sure why but was told his family loved it here.  Hell who doesn't right?
Our issue on defense is lack of talent.  McGriff I think has potential to be a great DC.  How can you not just love the guy.  He has answered all of the tough questions without disparaging our kids or their lack of talent.  When Freeze was hired we had a few really good defensive players already here and then he recruited some more to add to that. Then we had a crazy depth along the defensive line with big powerful guys and speed rush ends along with some bigger anchor ends.  We just don't have anything remotely resembling guys like Cody Prewitt, Cj Johnson, DT, Bird, Elston, Hilton, RN, Gross, Conner.  I could go on and on but we just don't have the talent there.  This was coming no matter who was the HC or DC.  Most of us saw it several years ago as the guys mentioned above were graduating and the guys coming up behind them were just not as good.  Lots of critical misses on signing days in the years that followed years where we hit it out of the park and had kids that performed well above expectations.

OM needs some lightnin"

I would take Kiffin at A&M in a heartbeat.

Another bump..lol

Long way to go, but this is exactly what I thought Lane would bring to OM in a hurry.  When you are a new hire, if you dont bring some lightnin', you get swamped under in a hurry.   Going to need to get the defense some help thru recruiting, but that will happen. I expect OM to knock off a few people that it is not expected though the rest of the way.

Re: Lane Kiffin...

I'll bump this old thread to happily admit I was sober when I made those comments and am thankful my position resides at the keyboard and not in any sort of decision making for our Ole Miss Rebels.  I had to respond when it popped up in my email today.  It was fun to go back and read the comments.
Football is fun again boys and Rock was spot on!  Kiffin was exactly what we needed.  I'm so happy we have him.
