Luke seriously left the cupboard empty on the defensive side of things. I really hope the staff can figure out a way to shore things up on that side of the ball. Offensively, we looked pretty decent. Our OL is pretty weak again (thanks Luke). Gonna take awhile for Lane and company to build the roster back up.

I agree, and I was impressed with the way Lane and his staff put up 613 years of total offense on a potent Florida defense (when the Gators averaged 430 yards per game in 2019).

We would have had some better defensive numbers if not for SEC officiating. Am I the only one that saw Florida hold on damn near every single play?

I guess I'm crazy but I thought our defensive secondary looked better than last year. Yeah, I know we gave up a mile of yards and points but I saw DBs actually putting eyes on the ball and trying to play the ball and receiver. I know we are woefully short on talent but I'm proud of how hard the kids played to the end. Offensively, Kiffin makes it fun to watch. Beats the hell out of watching Luke kick field goals.

They looked much better and never stopped trying. I'm glad that our depth issues weren't glaringly obvious.

Our defense has been on a down hill slide since Freeze's last year or 2. We know he had trouble getting SEC caliber LB's and he seemed to focus more on recruiting for his offense. Luke and his crew did not shore this area up any either. So we will have growing pains there as Kiffen gets his recruiting going. Hopefully the offense can win some track meets for us.

Luke was a HUGE mistake. (Pun intended)

The new rules in the SEC related to Covid play allow teams like Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, and LSU to hold at will. Also include are any teams that are playing against Ole Miss!!!
