Why can't we model Sweden

Our leaders are idiots. You can't stop COVID. You can only make it last longer by the masks and lockdowns. Sweden is living real life right now and their economy isn't suffering nearly as bad as countries that were much more strict. This is all asinine. To say otherwise is arguing with data.

According to the data, Sweden also suffered more deaths per capita than other countries as a result. Most countries are putting lives ahead of money.

Re: Why can't we model Sweden

They are one and the same. If you don't think that a destroyed economy and the rampant increase in suicides won't push the deaths up, you are crazy. Instead of having a manageable epidemic to handle, we now have an economy that's about to tank and massive job loss. Those equal deaths, brother. We will end up MUCH worse than Sweden and they are done. We have to reach herd immunity and thanks to the research into T-cell immunity, we now estimate that up to 80% of people are naturally immune already. The worst part of this is the needless sky screaming and fear. It's just inaccurate.

To be honest, i think it's completely up to the individual communities to make their own decision. Having said that, I haven't heard anything about 80% immunity. I would be interested in reading a paper on that. With the vaccination in phase 3, I'm pretty certain it's very near (phase 1&2 are both safety studies). I think you may be an antivaxxer if I remember right, and that's totally cool if you are man - your body, your choice. I have family that feels the same way.

But, I haven't read anything about us even being close to herd immunity. Based on reported positive tests, we're certainly far from 80%. With schools opening up, we are gonna get there very quickly though (based on what's being reported).

I'm not a Democrat or a Republican, and have watched how one side screams that it's politics (even spawned off some crazy conspiracy theory groups), while the other side is saying that everything should be shut down. As far as myself, I just watch the numbers and listen to the doctors all over the world for the trends. Hopefully this mess will be over sometime soon, but I think the opening of schools is about to cause a wild fire....

Hope you and yours are doing well and staying healthy man.

Absolutely doing well. Thank you for reaching out. I had sent you a PM in the same manner before reading this. I'll send you some good scientists that have tweeted and sourced the information. I hope you are also doing well and making some good homebrew.

Re: Why can't we model Sweden

Speaking of homebrewing, I need to brew up a batch next weekend. Thinking something simple like a blonde ale with azacca..
