Re: NCAA has banned all post season events in MS until the flag is changed

Someone has to take a stand against these takers because as mentioned when their initial demands are met, then they will just want more.  They are never satisfied and will continue to make more demands.

It will be interesting to see who tells them to go take a long walk off a short pier.  Hosting regionals is nice, but it is not a really big deal to not be able to host them.

A good lawyer needs to sue the NCAA and SEC office to keep them out of dictating policy.  Not allowing a state to host a regional because of their flag seems to be discriminatory.

What next, you can go to Church to practice your religion because some liberal does not believe in what is being preached?

Hopefully some loyal Reb attorney will sue the ncaa til the cows come home. Blackmail, pardon the expression, is against the law.

Re: NCAA has banned all post season events in MS until the flag is changed

It is not so much as changing the flag or making other changes, it is the directives or orders to "change or else!" It is the forcing people to do what we dictate or 'you can't have your desert' type mentality. The far left does not want to just change things of the Confederacy, they want to change and wipe out the history of this great nation. Not just change flags, not just take away statues of CSA soldiers, but topple and burn statues of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, tear down monuments to great Americans, tear down monuments to WWII and the Vietnam memorial to our vets, re-write history books decrying the USA has got to go, rewrite our Constitution to a Marxists philosophy. This is the far left agenda. Believe it or not, it's coming. We will have another civil war.

2 Timothy 4:3 tells us, "For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions."

Isaiah 5:20-21 - "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness, who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and clever in their own sight!"

Proverbs 26:12 "Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him."

Re: NCAA has banned all post season events in MS until the flag is changed

It's past time for the flag to be changed. The Mississippi Economic Council issued an ad yesterday where dozens of business CEO's in Mississippi advocated for change of the flag for economic reasons. Even the Mississippi Baptist Convention, representing the state's largest Protestant denomination with over 500,000 members, has come out for changing the flag. The Lt. Governor, Speaker of the House and others have spoken out for change. However, The Governor and some diehards in the legislature are still hung up on putting the issue to a referendum vote. They're just too scared to take a stand on the issue one way or the other. Typical weasel politicians,

TR, you hit the nail on the head.  That approach does not work with hard headed Southerners (I know, I'm one), and is the primary reason why desegration was so very difficult.

I totally agree. The flag has been hurting this state well before the current events. The flag of the army of Northern Virginia really is a racist symbol, and it's nuts that folks that have a warped view of nostalgia about it.
