I like Romero Miller, but I think he's making much ado about nothing in this case. Matt Luke is the interim coach, Not the full-time Ole Miss coach.

Luke should have been fired years ago.

The more I think about this the more I like it. Ross is well aware of the GOB push for Luke and this should serve as a clear signal as to his intent to hire an entire new staff for our football program as soon as this cluster of a season closes. Obviously Luke is a former player so calling the former players in is a good move. Luke's situation is and has always been a precarious one to handle. It can be done right and I wish nothing but the best for Matt somewhere else. He's just not ready and will likely never be ready for big time college football. Same could be said for the entire staff.

I agree with this.

Luke had six seasons to develop an OL and over that time, the OL was generally weak. When Tunsil signed with Ole Miss, no other big time OLs were recruited to compliment him. Matt is a good guy, but not a good coach.

I am planning on attending the "players only" meeting and am going to let my feelings be known on my position "against" hiring someone within the Ole Miss family.
The only way we will survive and get back to where we need to be is with someone that is not connected to the GOB network. It didn't work for 20+ years after my senior year and it doesn't work now.
Matt Luke was a great and dedicated rebel player, but I am amazed that anyone could think that a former OL coach that could only muster 9 inches per rush in our last Peach Bowl against TCU can magically become a successful head coach. Simply mind-boggling to me.
Only when we hire a coach outside of the GOB network will we be able to see "the forest" and not simply the trees. Only then can we be successful in the endeavor.
Lets hope they hire from the outside and completely allow the new coach to choose his own staff without any interference. Hopefully you will be able to give good input, along with other former players, that is used as good advice for the upcoming football coach hiring. Ole Miss needs to move forward, and while moving forward, they need to repay Moo U by exposing their cheating ways. Moo U has been integral in both the current and Brewer era NCAA investigations.

Thank you for your dedication to our cause Hap. I know you will have lots of better things to be doing and I sincerely hope your voice will be heard at the meeting.
We are approaching a crossroads similar to when JHV retired. We certainly screwed the pooch on that one and many more down the line. Here's to hoping and praying we will get it right this time.

Thanks Hap.....It's good to know that someone who remembers "Grady's","Johnnie's". "Kiamie's", and the 'Education parking lot' will be there.... because I know the mindset that remembers when we were winners instead of PC wimps will be present.
We'll be there with you in spirit.....on that you can rely.
