Listening to the Spirit Podcast , super interesting. Lots of topics of sausage making over the last few years. One of the things that always chapped my azz was Cam Akers and how we lost him. Great inside baseball

This was a very good podcast with Ben Garrett and former Ole Miss football assistant director of player personnel, Brennon Chapman. Brennon gave a good insight on some interesting matters pertaining to Ole Miss football. One of the biggest was showing incompetency from Ross Bjork. Ole Miss fans should be glad he is gone. Bjork blundered the handling of the NCAA investigation, in addition to having a power struggle with Hugh Freeze. In the end Bjork found the ammunition he needed in order to get rid of Freeze.
An interesting discussion in the podcast was about the NCAA going to other schools to interview players who were recruited by Ole Miss. Both Dan Mullens at Moo U and Gust Calzone at Allbarn allowed the NCAA to interview their players. Nick Saban told the NCAA to hit the road and that he was not going to allow this to happen at Alabama. Now his actions define how a school should handle the NCAA. Just tell them, no, and you do not have to cooperate with them. What is the penalty for not cooperating with the NCAA?
Brennon also exposed the NCAA for being a gestapo. They simple dictate policy and twists simple events to the way they want to view them. Ole Miss' NCAA ordeal was part of a personal vendetta with Mike Sheridan, of the NCAA, and certain unnamed Ole Miss coaches, most notably Hugh Freeze.
Barney Farrah was thrown under the bus with the Larry Tunsil incident. Per Brennon he was providing funds to Tunsil from a legitimate account allowed by the SEC. Instead of challenging the NCAA and showing that the transaction was a normal one, Bjerk and the Compliance Dept. did not even challenge the finding. Instead they allowed the NCAA to continue their investigation while providing incriminating evidence to the NCAA. There is no doubt that Farrah could expose lots of other schools and coaches, but instead he decide to be amicable and continue his life without more strife.
Another interesting thing was when Bjerk collected all cell phones and iPads from the Football staff. Bjerk tried to flex his muscle by getting everyone to sign a form allowing him to have access to the information on their personal phones. Brennon refused and put on the form that they could contact his lawyer about getting this information. You can be assured that this infuriated Loss. Information contained on devices provided by an employer should be automatic, but allowing them to have access to your personal information is unconstitutional. From listening to the podcast events about the NCAA investigation, it seems like Bjerk was working for the NCAA and doing whatever he could to ruin Ole Miss football. YOu can almost be assured that Ole Miss was not in his heart!!! TAMU hiring Bjerk was a great thing for Ole Miss. It is good that he left before he could do more damage to Ole Miss athletics.
The talk about losing some top recruits was interesting. In most cases it appeared that the recruit's fathers, who had not been a big part of their son's lives until their son was heavily recruited, showed up to influence the final deci$ion. It is unfortunate that Ole Miss lost some of these key players to out of state schools and hopefully in future recruiting seasons, these top Mississippi players will come to Ole Miss instead of going out of state to play.
This is a very interesting podcast, and if you are interested in inside information about the Ole Miss football program, you should listen to it. The information is entertaining and the podcast is more than some blatant rant about a lot of nothing. Give it a listen and post your thoughts on this podcast by Ben Garrett featuring Brennon Chapman.
