Ole Miss Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2020
The Lane Train has arrived at the station and Ole Miss football fans are all aboard. Will the new head coach lead the Rebels to a successful 2020?
The Lane Train has reached the station and Ole Miss fans have to be excited about the future in Oxford with the polarizing head coach at the helm.
The Matt Luke era came to a surprising end at the conclusion of the 2019 season and there were mixed reactions to his departure but the hiring of Kiffin changed people’s reactions drastically. He may have been one of the more controversial head coaches in college football for years, dating back to his days at USC and Tennessee and he even spent some time in the NFL, but he may be more tame these days.
Oh, and the Egg Bowl every year just got more interesting with Kiffin facing off against Mississippi State’s new head coach Mike Leach. Talk about big personalities.
Ole Miss is looking to get back to bowl contention after failing to reach six wins despite a bowl ban and Kiffin can get them there. He may have a rough first season with a roster already in place, but when he starts getting his guys, watch out.
Matt Corral is a good starting piece but John Rhys Plumlee can’t be slept on in the quarterback battle, either.
How will Ole Miss finish the 2020 season?

This guy predicts a loss to Arkansas? What kind of stupid prediction is that?

If Luke were still coach, the loss to Arkansas would probably be a reality. With Kiffin as coach, there is more hope for player development and team improvement. Just a quick look and not a complete evaluation, Ole Miss does not play well at Arkansas, but this game is winnable by the Rebels. Also, there is the possibility of getting an upset over Baylor, Auburn, Florida, or TAMU. One thing for sure, having Kiffin as coach as opposed to Luke as coach has made Ole Miss football more interesting.

In my opinion, this perfectly describes ANY prediction at this point.

put Ark in the W column and I can see this. Baylor will be a wildcard, will be interesting to see if we can sneak out a win in game 1.
Other than that, the first half of the season is just stupid and the SEC can eat a sheyat for this type of ignorance.
If we get the QB thing squared away, our offense should be pretty balanced as long as our OL comes along.
If we build on the small amount of improvement from our Defense, that would be a plus. However we lost a load of talent on the DL and did not sign who we needed last year to help fill gaps.
i could not imagine the type of death and destruction we would be in for if luke was still running things. we could very well be looking at a 1-2 win season right now..
