should be a eventful weekend for OMOle Miss is expected to host six 2020 prospects on official visits this weekend. They are all expected to arrive on campus Friday evening. The caveat to that is things are extremely fluid as we head into the final weekend before next Wednesday's national signing day. As always, we issue our customary warning of potential subtractions and/or additions to this visitors' list.
The Rebels will also host a group of underclassmen on Saturday. It will be the Rebels' final chance to bring in those underclassmen until the spring, as February in its entirety is now a dead period on the NCAA calendar.
Among the 2020 official visitors expected to be on campus this weekend are three wide receivers, a tight end, one offensive lineman and a defensive back. Of those, two are currently committed to Florida State and Florida, respectively.
One of those is Florida wide receiver commit Marc Britt. The Gators went in-home with Britt earlier this week but did not deter his scheduled visit to Ole Miss. Britt, who took his official to Florida last weekend, is still expected in Oxford at this writing.
Britt, however, might prove to be an interesting case. The four-star receiver has said he might not be ready to end his recruitment next Wednesday.
"If not Wednesday, it might be some days after," Britt told Swamp247. "If not then, yes in the spring."Of note is that Ole Miss is recruiting the multi-talented Britt as a wide receiver, while Florida sees him as a safety.
His warning of potentially setting out signing day echoes what some are saying about another prospect that Ole Miss and Florida are battling for in wide receiver Leonard Manuel.
Manuel, a Florida commit who took his official to Ole Miss last weekend, does not plan to sign a letter of intent until April 1. According to sources, that is due to him needing a higher test score for entrance into Florida. Don't be surprised, though, if Manuel pulls off a signing day flip to the Rebels. We are told that is certainly a possibility.
Florida State commit Malachi Wideman is also a hopeful to take an official visit to Ole Miss this weekend. He has been committed to the Seminoles since last May and took his official visit to Tallahassee in December. His 247Sports Crystal Ball has held steady with Florida State at 86 percent. The other 14 percent belongs to the Florida Gators.
The other receiver expected to spend the weekend in Oxford is Shreveport, La., prospect Detravion Brown. He is fresh off back-to-back official visits to Kentucky and Houston,as things wind down to a three-school battle.
Ole Miss looks to be in good shape for tight end Allen Horace. Horace visited UT-San Antonio last weekend, so the Rebels get the last chance to make the best, on-campus impression. Of note on the 6-4, 250-pound Horace, some schools see him as a defensive end on the next level.
Offensive lineman Cedric Melton will take his first look-see at Ole Miss this weekend, as well. Melton decommitted from Arizona earlier this week and his recruitment has seemingly boiled down to Ole Miss and Houston.
We highly suspect the Rebels will gain a commitment from Melton this weekend. Whether or not that potential commitment goes public or remains silent is something we'll just have to wait to see.
Finally, Ole Miss defensive back commitment Daran Branch will take his much-anticipated official visit to Ole Miss this weekend. Branch is fresh off an official visit to Georgia and his Ole Miss commitment held strong.

Watched a ton of film on Horace as a soph. My team was in line to play his in 2017 in the playoffs. Didnt work out as we both we outed the week before. Kid a TON of ability, just raw. Finley will get him coached up. OM has the two transfers and that might give him a chance to develop some.
The competition is Ark in my opinion, Briles is after him, but Finley has had a 2+ year relationship with him at Mizzu and A&M. Baylor kept Joey McGuire on staff who was the one recruiting him along with former BU QB Shawn Bell who is the TE coach, but they just hired the rest of the staff, might be a little late, but they are the closest to him ( less than 2 hours).
Maryland seems to be full and they are not a TE friendly offense
OK State has their TE for the class
Pittsburg really had a shot early, but they took a JUCO TE and a transfer from Florida
Texas Tech signed a TE in the early period , but tech uses mostly spread TE guys. Horace is a everydown guy that can block with his hand in the dirt. He played in the spread in HS so he will have to learn technique in the run game blocking. Played a TON of DE in HS, he is a good enough athlete that could even possibly end up there if they put him there
Horace is really a 4 star prospect that would be a big get for OM IMO if they can pick him up and I expect them to.
