In a surprising move, Kiffin re-hired the former running backs coach to coach the WR. Of course this was ecstatically Tweeted by Yancy Porter of the Ole Miss Spirit. Now Yancy has his source back and can continue to get the inside scoop on all the Ole Miss football activities as well as the latest dance moves from the recruits.
Nix, 39, continues to avoid any and every landmine, surviving three different staff changes in Oxford. He will start his 13th season at Ole Miss as the new wide receivers coach and will be expected to hit the ground running in the 2021 class to recruit the in-state crop of receivers within the Magnolia State.Five of the top-10 players in the state in next year’s class are receivers and Nix, an assistant noted for his connections within the Hospitality State, needs to prove his worth to get Kiffin and Lebby’s offense some weapons on the outside.

In all seriousness on Nix and every staff. They have people they leak recruiting info to from all these networks. The use them to find out info that they may not be able to find out. I know when I helped friends that ran the A&M site on Scout.com, the had open communication with a veteran coach on the staff. The coach would call and ask what we were hearing, what was the kids parents thinking, then if it were a closed recruiting time get the recruiting guy to pass messages from the staff, etc.
I dont know Yancy from anyone else, Nix I thought had probably seen one too many OM coaches and thought he wouldnt be retained. If I were a betting man, and I am I would say that Nix has let Kiffin know of his relationship with Yancy if they do have that relationship and Kiffin sees it as a positive and something that he can use to OM's advantage. I know he had a guy on the Tenn site ED O leaked info to and am sure they did it at USC. You can bet if stuff gets out that Lane doesnt want out, Nix wont be employed long. Kiffin is not someone who get clipped from behind, he has been back stabbed way too much. He has his eyes wide open.
