State has fired him. Not sure what they are thinking, other than having Kiffin-envy.

then they have someone else signed as they wouldn't risk not having someone committed to Stankeyville.

Two names floating around right now - Napier and Chizik.
Kiffin has State very scared.

The Willie Gay-Schrader bout, plus getting beat in the music bowl and constantly hearing about Kiffin hires was more than their little hearts could bear. NO MO head, Joe No Mo any mo. (He's probably glad to get out of Skankvegas - with pay out.

I know msu was talking to Napier yesterday. ULL had another contract extension for him and his entire staff ready for him/them to sign. As about 2 pm yesterday I know they hadn't signed it. Maybe msu got him to agree last night to be the new HC.
Remember that Napier was Lane's WR coach at Alabama for 3 years. Napier doesn;t want to go head to head with Kiffin in coaching or recruiting, but you can't blame him for taking that huge pay raise.
I know people say, just wait and other jobs come up in the future, many times it just doesnt work like that. Head Coaching jobs are hard to get, power 5 HCing jobs are almost impossible to get.

Joe Moorhead was run over by the Lane Train. This firing is nothing but a knee jerk reaction to our hiring of Kiffin and all the national publicity we received because of it. After JoMo beat us in the Egg Bowl and it looked liked we were keeping Luke, there was no real concern about him in Starkville. After we unexpectedly hired Kiffin and he began assembling a top flight staff, there suddenly arose serious fear in Starkville that we were much better poised for the future than they were. The influential alumni started a drumbeat with Keenum and Cohen that Moorhead had to go. It all came to fruition today.
