Fans can only hope Gideon is hired soon.  Rippon was and is a horrible ST coach.  He did a poor job in the past on Orgeron's staff, left Ole Miss, and then Freeze hired him for a second round of wasted coaching. 

In the past a parent who's son was on special teams said that Rippon did nothing to help them.  He simply had the kickers kick field goals and kickoff during practice.  The punters punted.  Sometimes the regular returner would field the ball.  Their was little to no evaluation.  The players were simply told just go kick the ball.

Ole Miss needs to get rid of the dead wood coaches and replace them with quality coaches who will do their job and coach up a player.
