Luke is now UGA's OL coach

Saw where it was also mentioned in one place that he'll also have the title of Associate HC.

Re: Luke is now UGA's OL coach

It was officially announced an hour ago. This is the first time that we won't have him underachieving since 2012!

Re: Luke is now UGA's OL coach

Was hoping somewhere farther away like University of Alaska. Don't want to see him anywhere near Oxford ever again.

It just didn't work at OM so good luck in the future. Hope Tommy catches on at GA to for his invaluable services. We'll like pay the full buyout on him.

One good thing about Luke going to UGA is that the chances of him being forced onto Kiffin's staff are lowered!!!

Re: Luke is now UGA's OL coach

It’s the best thing for Luke and his family to get a fresh start somewhere else. He’s at a good school and not in the SEC West. The worst thing that could have happened would be for him to have been given some job in the Ole Miss Athletic Department (as some suggested when trying to remove him as HC).

I don’t understand all the venom directed at Luke. He, like Ed Orgeron, was hired for the job before he was ready. Both of them just took advantage of what they were offered. The venom should be directed at the AD’s and Chancellors who hired them. They were the ones who screwed the pooch in both hirings. I think Keith Carter observed that and was determined not to make the same mistake.

I agree that Luke needed something away from Ole Miss, and hopefully he and and family will be very happy.

I think the venom comes from the belief that his family and family friends had a big hand in pulling strings to get him hired, instead of allowing Bjork to hire Doeren.

I will also agree that it is good for Luke to have been hired by a quality program in another division and him not have to live in Oxford.  If he stayed in Oxford he would be met with mixed emotions of some people telling how he was wronged and others telling him that he needed to leave.  The thing that upsets me most is his compensation, contract, and no offset clause.  Whenever someone talked about his contract it was like talking about double secret probation.

You can hardly not agree with him on talking the job.  He got paid $3M to be a coach, was guaranteed at $100k bonus each year, had a lucrative buyout, and had no offset in his contract.  He was giving the change to become a multimillionaire in a very short period of time.

Good luck to Luke, except when you play Ole Miss.

Yeah, but I think he got Kahill Benson to follow him. Dang it if he did.
