I just heard the old Queen tune "We Are The Champions"......."we are the champions....no time for losers"....
That got me to thinking about something I said below about our people deciding if we want to really compete for championships or not.
As much as I was disgusted by Tubby's treatment of our team (it really ticked me off he left and didn't even tell them goodbye and then kept calling them).....that was low class. But that being said he did have a valid reason to bolt on us. He tried to drag Ole Miss to a championship mentality and got throttled by Bobby "we're the Harvard of the south" Khayat.... So Tubs bailed and for THAT I can't blame him. What winning coach wants to work for a boss who doesn't place a premium on championships? None that I would want as a HC.....
That 'attitude' is still alive and well with our leadership....and until that changes (insert new leaders) we won't be able to compete beyond the occasional (once every 8-10 years) above average (9-3) team.

I don't know how much Khayat interfered but Pete Boone was a roadblock at every turn for Tuberville. He has said as much many many times.
I will always say Tub leaving like he did shook us to the core and made us realize our old ways were not going to cut it. Old habits are hard to break and we have fallen back into them more than a few times since then....
