I am happy we have Jimbo at A&M, but when we were in the market for a coach 2 years ago, I wanted us to be at lane's doorstep talking to him also.

As a couple of you that I correspond with thru private messages,  I have had word this was a very strong reality since Thursday.

As a few know I am somewhat friends with both Ed O and Lane.  Known Ed since he was a asst coach at Nicholls and I was a asst at La Tech.  I was at visiting with Ed and family in Destin when Lane showed up to drag him to Tenn with him.( I was living in Panama City where I lived for years after i got out of coaching as many on this and Col's old board know) and got to know Lane then .

When I say friends I mean when may text each other 1-2 time a year. I see Ed every year at least once. Haven't seen Lane in a couple of years.

When I see unnamed sources that Ed O advised Lane against taking the OM job, I will just say BS.  Just some clown on the internet trying to stir stuff up and get clicks.


Anyway, going to be a fun ride for you guys ( and me as I root for OM every game minus 1 each year)

Probably make a trip to Oxford this summer with some recruits.
