The more names I see popping up, the more worried I get. This has got to be a SPLASH hire. If we hire an unknown, we might have well kept Luke where at least we had a leg up on recruiting.

You do know Luke's recruiting isn't any good, right? #12 in the entire conference. For some weird reason, people started talking about him being some sort of great recruiter, when nothing in reality backs that up. I think it was a talking point given to the media or something. Luke never liked recruiting - which is why he quit (was asked to leave) under Coach O's staff. Luke stated that O demanded too much time to be invested in recruiting.

Yes. I wasn't referring to Luke being a great recruiter...  more about referring to players leaving and decommitments. I want a new coach, but not another experiment. I was just saying that we will really be behind the 8-ball with an unproven coach and chaos among players and recruiting, etc. Even Louisville's head coach wouldn't be the SPLASH we need in my opinion.

Reading. Ole Miss is exploring or has explored Lane Kiffin even though there are reports he might be named head coach at Ark.

Also, sources in Memphis and Florida saying.Norvall has agreed in principal to take FSU job.

Co-ordinators have worked (Orgeron) just not for us. Position coaches sue as hell have not worked. If I never hear Mississippi Made again, I will sing out every day! Who in blazes thought that one ..... well they should have shingles the rest of their miserable lives.

Another name in the mix. Appalachian State head coach Eli Drinkwitz. Maybe long shot to get him, but OM thinks he good enough to take a look at him. Has worked at Auburn, Ark State, NC State and this season at Appalachian State. 11-1 now.

Didn't he take over a solid team at App State?

Re: What's the news on the OM Spirit and Rivals about the coaching search?

He did take over a good team.  Scott Satterfield was the prior coach.  App State started FBS Division in 2015.  Here are the team results:

2014 7-5
2015 11-2 Camelia Bowl - beat Ohio 31-29
2016 10-3 Camelia Bowl - beat Toledo 31-28
2017  9-4 Dollar General Bowl - beat Toledo 34-0
2018  11-2 New Orleans Bowl - beat Middle TN 45-13

Nothing is official of course, but a college assistant coach -- not an Ole Miss assistant -- tells me the buzz he hears is Napier to Ole Miss.
