Can someone give us an update on what the OM Spirit and Rivals are saying about the coaching search? Thanks!

Lots of speculation and guessing on Spirit, but really it seems no one knows what is going on. I got bored, and quit reading.

Same here , been trolling Twitter for the past 2 hours. Absolutely nothing but rumours. I do believe Norvell is going to fsu. One fan said that he has turds that made a bigger splash than Norvell. They're not happy.

I've heard they are interviewing a number of coordinators from many locations. I just want to know why we always seem to be willing to take these guys with NO Head Coaching experience. Sure some turn out to be great coaches, like Dabo for instance, but our track record with those guys have been pretty dismal,

Another name tonight. Notre Dame OC, Chip Long. He worked with Memphis HC Norvell both at Ariz State and Memphis. Left Memphis after one year to go to ND.

The more names I see popping up, the more worried I get. This has got to be a SPLASH hire. If we hire an unknown, we might have well kept Luke where at least we had a leg up on recruiting.

Ole Miss should not hire a coordinator. They need to hire a coach who has solid head coaching experience. Of course Ole Miss is known to hire someone, pay them a huge salary, and then let them learn on the job, so hiring a coordinator would be a real WAOM move.
If meeting the deadline of Dec. 18 is a factor, then let the current staff take care of those duties. It is better to not have as good of a recruiting year than it is to not hire a good coach. No matter what the situation, Ole Miss will be rebuilding, just as Luke who has been perpetually rebuilding since he was an OL coach.

Scott Sattefield, HC at Louisville, has the Ole Miss connections necessary to get the job. Satterfield currently staffs former Ole Miss defensive back Bryan Brown as his defensive coordinator, as well as former Rebel wide receivers coach Gunter Brewer, who holds the same position for the Cardinals.
While HC at Appalachian State, Satterfield's record was 38-10. In his first year at Louisville he is 7-5 with wins over Wake Forest and Virginia. Louisville lost to Kentucky 13-45.
