Yep Jimmy is the guy pulling the strings. You're right catfish it shouldn't be this way.Should there be a cap on the amount of clients an agent can have? I really don't know what the answer is.

As someone who knows Lane pretty well, I would take him in a heart beat if I were OM. Instant credibility with recruits, jolt of electricity into the program, just enough arrogance to go head to head with Satan and Ed O. AND, a hell of a football coach.
Many people don't like a little arrogance, but I think it is essential in winning, especially in a viper pit like the SEC West.
Lane would have the name recognition to really attract recruits. My hesitation would be how he left Tennessee like he did.

Of course I have no issue how he left Tenn. His dream job had just opened up at USC where he had been part of building it with Carroll. They offered him the job, what else could he do. Nothing would have made the Tenn people happy with the way he left. If he would have cried at the podium they still would have hated him and the media would have slammed him.
Honestly, the HUGE reason that lane gets all the crap from the media is the liberal sports media ( espn) and now all these website writer are liberal and they see Lane as the privileged white guy who never had to work for anything, which is complete nonsense.

yep, Lane jumped around for a bit but hey, he was a young guy who everyone in the country wanted. He has been humbled and has shown progress and sustained success. I think he is one of the better coaches that would immediately help in recruiting. many of the coaches on the board i would be happy with. It all turns into a crap shoot sometimes no mater who the hire is.

You're right. I'm just talking about bolting after a single season. Tough call for him to make.
I think Lane is a good coach (I've kept up with FAU a bit). I wouldn't be upset if we hired him - I think just by his name alone, he'd give us a bump in recruiting. The more I think about it, and what he has done in he past from an offensive standpoint, the more I'm liking that idea.

You were right and Kiffin is just what Ole Miss needed. He is a good hire who gets Ole Miss positive media coverage. Now if he can win some games and assemble a top notch program, the Rebels will be set. There is no doubt that Lane is not a boring hire. It is good to see that Keith Carter broke the mold in the usual Ole Miss search and hire.
