Huh? Boyce weaseling his way into the Chancellor position by effectively being paid to hire himself was a complete sham.
Carter gave Luke a glowing review about the direction of the program. Big money had to force his hand to get rid of his buddy after Carter making such a ridiculous, public endorsement.

I read one "report" someone sent from another board that said Boyce wanted to keep Luke, but Carter supposedly told him, basically "keep Luke and watch the athletic department go bankrupt from lack of funding support". Carter then went out and got deep pockets to pony up for the buyouts. If so, apologies to Carter, zip to Boyce.
