Well, Luke is safe under Carter
Carter gave Luke a glowing review on his future and state of the program. I'm done with Ole Miss football.
"I think our football program is headed in a great direction," Carter said. "I'm so excited about coach Luke. He's our coach. We couldn't be more excited about the opportunity we have next week in Starkville. We're excited about where recruiting is and excited about where the future is headed. We're going to get behind coach Luke and we're going to try to get after the Bulldogs next week and get to that fifth win."

If We do beat state, I hope that they're not asked to a bowl with 5 wins. Luke will get a big bonus and more job security.

I am hoping against hope that is a typical "vote of confidence" we frequently see to keep things/players calm til season is over. Followed by immediate dismissal of coach. I know this is strongly wishful thinking but it is the holiday season.
Show me someone who doesn't care if they win or lose and I will show you a loser.

the APR route is getting more and more slim. Even if we win thursday, there is little chance we back door into a bowl..
Now what would make my face melt is if we do beat state, the state back doors into an APR bowl or something...

The GOBs have decided for everyone from the Chancellor down. We are now stuck with Luke probably for years.

It took a movement like Forward Rebels to oust Pete Boobe and his cronies. Instead of keeping the GOB at bay, they simple retreated, regrouped, and are now back in full force. These people will not give up their power and control now matter what damage they might cause.

During the PC, Carter thanked Boone who was in attendance.
Pete held the program back. We can’t do another AD who shoves a 250lb assistant coach in a Nissan Versa for a recruiting visit ever again.

Guys, I think you are all over-reacting at this point. Of course, as a new AD, he's going to get up there and say things supportive of the people in place now. That doesn't matter at all with the postseason evaluation of coaches.
Did you really expect him to get up there and say anything at all critical of Luke? I didn't. It would be tacky at best to say something like that in your introductory conference.
