Yes, this and access to the program is all that matters.  Rebel fans are stuck with Rich Rod who has a 3 year contract at $900k per year.  Luke will use the political influence of his family to dictate policy on his tenure at Ole Miss.  It would not be a surprise if he got an extension and a raise.  The excuses would flow, be excessive, and the same ones fans have heard for a decade.

Without an AD, I don't see Luke getting an extension. Reading a good bit over the weekend, it looks like his support is dwindling at this point. Many are now calling out good decision making. The only new talking point to try to keep him is about how it would hurt the next recruiting class.

I'm feeling a bit more optimistic now about us getting rid of him after this season. People are publicly calling it the fact that he still doesn't know what's going on during a game and how to manage the team. The guy roams sidelines staring at the jumbotron without having the slightest clue about what to do. The timeout on the extra point was ridiculously stupid.

Hurting the next recruiting class is the least of our worries. I can't remember the financial term but sometimes you have to cut your losses and move on otherwise you'll find yourself spending even more money and never get ahead. Lose a little now or lose even more later and lose time in the process.

I guess the admins is trying to cover for Luke in using the beer sales to make up for people staying at home.

Re: Rich Rod is obviously past his prime...

I would rather Luke be fired and have a bad recruiting class than have Luke stay and have a mediocre (thats all Luke will produce) recruiting class.  Ole Miss football needs a fresh start.

The Luke family will be pulling out all excuses to keep Matt there as long as possible.

Re: Rich Rod is obviously past his prime...

The University is hemorrhaging with Luke as the coach.   Every year he remains is just another year of being bled dry.  Worrying about the recruiting class is like saying lets put a band-aid on a severed artery.

Yep, no doubt. It's just the latest bs being pushed by the admin. So many people bit on the "Luke was the best we could do" and "nobody was interested" garbage they fed people when they hired Luke, they figure people are dumb enough to believe this one too.
