I think it would be a great in your face thing to just hire Freeze back after any NCAA ruling.

Freeze would have taken this team and beat Cal so this disaster is on Luke, not Freeze.
And I would love for OM to hire him back after the ruling. Wishful thinking but I’d like it. He’s probably going to get a show cause.

I can't see a school publicly stating they fired a coach for personal misconduct only to hire him back a few short months later.

No offense Catfish but you need to move past Freeze. This is Luke's fiasco now. I'll be surprised if Bama even punts in this game. Yes, you are right. The administration needs to let a coach pick their own staff, and I do need to move past Freeze. The big thing for me with Freeze is how well he did initially, then he got the big head, a big raise, and suddenly went into vacation mode at Ole Miss. If you were ever around him his first two seasons and then around him after that you would know what I mean. He had a big change in personality and an all about me attitude. Anyway this is Luke's problem and he will probably get another year while Ole Miss is on probation. After that, and if a new coach is hired, the administration will probably, once again, recommend Luke to be on the staff. Luke is a great person, was a good football player, but is a mediocre coach.

I don’t recall cut being held back on hiring assts. I remember him continually watering down what was initially a solid staff by hiring and promoting from within. That was the fulmer method he learned at tenn not a result of budget constraints

This is on Freeze. Luke is taking the fall for it and being paid well to do so but make no mistake this shitshow started a couple of years ago. It’s unfortunate that Freeze doesn’t have to answer for his own failures in recruiting that we are facing.
This was happening regardless.
I don’t think he would have beaten cal. If you think that then explain laying down like a cheap hooker against terrible vandy and moou teams last fall. Yes that was a reference to ColReb.
I also don’t think Luke could win if he had the cowboys talent either. He just sucks as a coach. Always has likely always will.

Luke does not really seem serious about being the head coach at Ole Miss. When Sleaze resigned, recruits bolted. The recruits did not remain, so that is on the head coach. During the end of the Cal game, he seemed to be joking and not really paying attention to the game. In a recent interview he laughed at the reporter when they mentioned the romp Alabama gave to Vandy. Well, he is probably sill laughing . . . all the way to the bank with his $1M check for being a fill in coach.
