Why the hell wouldn't you go for an onside kick? Damn, he's completely useless!!!
I didn’t watch the game past the first quarter. Meridian, can you or someone tell me what happened?
Were we losing and Luke played it safe? Similar to the FG from the one foot line in Baton Rouge when we were losing by 3 TDs?

We had some momentum at the time and even the announcers were asking for the onside kick. I believe a another score at the time would have put us within one score. At any rate, Luke chose to kick long. The irony is that the ball landed around the goal line backing Missouri way up. That doesn't help a lot though against a team that can readily move the ball.

5 minutes left in the game, down by 10, we just scored, and our defense have been able to stop them all game. Common sense says go for the onside kick to try to give yourself a chance. Instead, Luke calls for a normal kick off.

He plays not to lose instead of to win.

He learned from his mentor - Otis Cutcliffe - the man whose decision tree options on 4th down are punt or field goal.
